CSV imports is a great and powerful tool for all users to master. However, there is a function that is not available to all users on imports which is the Run Server SuiteScript and Trigger Workflows checkbox.
This function which can be found on the second screen of imports the Import Options screen under the Advanced Options is only available to admission and users/roles with this permission. This checkbox enables the systems to run any scripts or workflows on the record type that you are importing. This can cause issues as this is not always needed for imports when creating or updating specific information. Many times this could cause problems if users are not aware of existing scripts or workflows on the record type that they are completing the import for.
This permission can be found and set on any role in the admin role by going to Setup > Users/Roles > Manage Roles and editing the role that employees use to do imports. The permission will be located on Setup > Control SuiteScript and Trigger Workflow per CSV Import. The level will automatically be set to Full, which will allow users in that role to enable this option on imports.
