NetSuite Standard Cost Calculation Processing Troubleshooting

Is your standard cost processing stuck? Are your costs on your balance sheets not what you expectIf you have standard cost, most likely the culprit is your cost calculation is stuck. Here are some ways you can troubleshoot or diagnose the status of your standard cost calculations

First step in troubleshooting is to check if the cost calculation is still being processedHere are a couple of quick ways to check:  

      1.  The quickest way you can check is to go to the Income Statement and choose to Display Title.  At the bottom of the title, NetSuite will note if cost calculation is still running.  
          1. To Display Title, click on icon   and check the Display Title checkbox.
              
      2. If you know the item that is impacted, you can go to the Item Record > Purchasing/Inventory > Location and it will tell you the processing status. 



      3.  
          1. In Queue: flagged or Cost Accounting but calculations are not running yet 
          2. In Process: flagged for Cost Accounting and calculations are currently running 
          3. Completed: not flagged for Cost Accounting and calculations are not running 
          4. Error: Cost Accounting calculations failed 


      4. In addition, you can create a saved search for a list of items and their cost processing status.  
          1. Create Item Saved Search 
          2. Criteria 
              1. Field: Location Cost Accounting Status 
                  • Is any of Failed, Pending, Processing 
          3. Results
              1. Field: Name 
              2. Field: Inventory location 
              3. Field: Location Cost Accounting Status 

 

If you are finding that the processing is taking longer than expected, here are a few things you can do when this happens.  

      1. Typically, it can take up to 24 hours to complete processing. So the first option is to wait until the next day to see if the calculations finish 
      2. If after a day, you noticed the status has not changed or not completed, please reach out to NetSuite support.  Most likely, the backend scripts are not triggering.
