NetSuite’s CRM functionality provides support for a multitude of scenarios that may occur during the sales cycle and automatically progresses leads through a series of stages as they hit certain milestones. For organizations transferring off another CRM system whose users are familiar with that system’s flow and terminology, moving to NetSuite’s native CRM flow can be an adjustment as it may function differently than what their sales staff is accustomed to. One of the most under-utilized options available within NetSuite is “Customer Center”. NetSuite provides a standard role for customers. The Customer Center role lets your customers view their estimates, orders, invoices, and payments. You can customize this role to adjust the level of permission for certain tasks in the center. For example, if you do not want customers to make payments from the Customer Center, you can set the level for Customer Payments to “None” instead of “Edit”.

NetSuite releases two system upgrades per year to all accounts, often providing new functionality within existing features in addition to launching brand new capabilities. Prior to being upgraded to the new release, all accounts are given access to a release preview environment that allows users to preview the changes in a sandbox-like setting. Detailed documentation describing all changes that are included as part of the new release are also provided at this time and can be accessed from the New Release portlet and in SuiteAnswers. In this post, I’m going to share the five changes that are being made as part of 2020.2 that I am most excited about.
