Project Methodology is defined by the Project Management Institute as “a system of practices, techniques, procedures and rules used by those who work in a discipline.”  Project methodology is full of fancy buzz words like sprints, scrum master and burndowns.  It sounds complicated, but let’s breaks down what it really means and why it’s important for an organization and their clients.

What is NPS?

Net Promoter Score (NPS) is an index to measure customer loyalty toward your company or service. Customers are asked to provide feedback about how likely they are to recommend your services in the future using a 0 to 10 scale.

When looking for ways to optimize your business operations, it is tempting to focus on “big wins” – the changes that will yield time savings in the minutes or hours.  However, it can be just as fruitful, if not more so, to find ways to save a few seconds on repetitive tasks that are performed hundreds of times each day by multiple employees.

NetSuite’s saved search function gives you the ability to develop highly-customized reporting in a simple, point-and-click interface.  In previous posts, I’ve highlighted some of the more advanced techniques that can be used when creating saved searches within NetSuite, including formulas and SQL statements.  In contrast, this article will address one of the easiest-to-use and most powerful features available within saved searches – automated email alerts.  With just a few clicks, you can create automated emails that are specifically tailored to the unique processes of your business, all without any coding or development background.

Project management is both a science and an art form. There are many project management methodologies and tools out there to help a project manager, but without the human touch, you are less likely to be successful in pushing your projects through on time, on schedule, and within budget.  A good project manager is how efficient and effective they are at getting things done. However, there are many project managers who go through the motions without the “people” aspect that really makes a project manager successful.

Sales is an interesting profession.  While I believe and know it can be a most honorable one, when I ask others what comes to mind when they hear that someone is ‘in sales,’ the answers are rarely positive. I usually get something to the effect of, “Ugh!  Someone who couldn’t get a real job" or "someone that is a good manipulator.”
