NetSuite continues to expand its portfolio of SuiteApps to help clients in various industries better leverage NetSuite for their needs. One of the SuiteApps I am excited to tell you about and show you is Supply 360. Supply 360 is a free NetSuite developed SuiteApp which provides clients with the reporting capabilities to understand where component shortages are prevalent across the supply chain. If you use NetSuite for your manufacturing needs, I think you will find value from this SuiteApp which requires no financial investment and is simple to set up.
Requirements & Installation
You will need NetSuite OneWorld in order to install the SuiteApp. This is the only requirement imposed by NetSuite. Using an Administrator, navigate to Customization > SuiteCloud Development > SuiteApp Marketplace. Search for Supply 360 and click Install. That’s it! There is no additional configuration required.
Supply 360 Overview
You can locate Supply 360 by navigating to Reports > Supply 360 > Supply 360. This will load the Supply 360 Dashboard. The basic idea here is you will select a Location and enter a Date Range. Supply 360 will then search for, and filter work orders whose Production Start Date meets the specified criteria. Supply 360 will display the results overview and categorize them as follows:
- Work Orders
- This category displays the specific work orders with shortages.
- Components
- This category displays the components with insufficient on-hand inventory.
- Assemblies
- This category displays the assemblies with insufficient component inventory.
Detailed results are organized into three tabs:
- Shortages by Work order
- Shortages by Component
- All Component Requirements
Each tab provides a more granular view and includes an ability to export results to excel. Results can be further shortlisted through the use of several built-in filters. Columns can be adjusted as well, although currently you cannot add columns other than those already included by NetSuite. Through the use of this information and data, procurement and scheduling decisions can be made to preempt production delays related to inventory availability.
Overall, the solution is a great addition to the NetSuite portfolio. Best of all, it is free and requires minimal time investment to set up. In my experience, Supply360 is a good fit for clients who are looking to better understand their supply chain and need a tool to help them analyze upcoming shortages. Supply 360 could also be a good fit for clients who are looking to implement a demand planning or material requirements planning solution but are not ready to make that jump. For those clients, Supply 360 can be a nice short-term solution.
