What we experienced during this project transcended construction—it transformed hearts, strengthened our team, and gave hope to a family in need
Meet the Ramírez Family
Agripina (42) and Roberto (45) are hard-working parents doing everything they can to provide a better life for their seven children—Alejandro (17), Alberto (15), Daniel (15), Carlos (12), Cesar (10), Roberto (8), and baby Ana (6 months). Agripina works in a factory earning about $130 per week, and Roberto is a delivery driver bringing home $145 weekly. They pay $150 per month for their plot of land and have been unable to afford a proper home.
The family of nine had been living in a single-room structure with a small kitchen. Some of the children slept in the living room. Despite these hardships, all the children attend school, and the family continues to prioritize their education, stability, and faith.
Agripina wrote a heartfelt letter to Homes of Hope asking for help:
“We have only one room and a kitchen, so some family members sleep in the living room. I am responsible for seven minor children, and despite our efforts to save for an additional room, our income barely covers our daily expenses. All my children are attending school, which represents a significant cost in food, diapers, transportation, and other necessities. With faith and hope, I turn to you with the request to access a housing program that can help us overcome this period of instability and allow us to have a decent home.”
A Weekend That Changed Everything
On April 5th–6th, 2025, our Concentrus team traveled to Baja alongside the team at Homes of Hope. In just two days, we constructed a two-bedroom home complete with a concrete foundation, plumbing, electricity, a refrigerator, a kitchen cooktop, and furnishings. What we built was more than a house—it was a foundation for a future.
“It’s incredible what can happen in just one weekend,” said Jesse Guzman, ERP Practice Director at Concentrus. “We came to build a house, but left with something far greater: connection, empathy, and a shared sense of purpose. Acumatica’s generous donation empowered us to provide more than a structure; we gave a family hope and a foundation for their future.”
The Ramírez children now have beds, a place to study, and most importantly, security. Agripina and Roberto can breathe easier knowing their children are safe, warm, and supported. The ripple effect of this single act will carry forward for generations.

Homes of Hope, a ministry of Youth With A Mission (YWAM) San Diego/Baja, has been building homes for families in need since 1990. With projects across more than 30 nations, the organization provides life-changing housing assistance to low-income families and service opportunities to volunteers.
