Oracle is no stranger here and has recently been deploying various AI tools across their software offerings, including NetSuite. One recently released AI driven tool is the intelligent recommendations feature. If you use NetSuite sales orders, there is a good chance you have seen a new spiffy Intelligent Recommendations button on your sales order forms. What does it do and what is all about? The Intelligent Recommendations feature is fairly new and is thus missing a lot of the refinements NetSuite is known for. Refinements that will be added as the feature matures. However, you can begin using the functionality when entering sales orders right away. Per Oracle, the intelligent recommendations engine calculates and displays items your customers may be interested in buying. Some of the inputs that go into what gets recommended are that customer’s purchase history, similarities between existing products you sell, other similar customer’s purchase history, and other similarly bought items.
When you click the Intelligent Recommendations button, you will be presented with a fairly simple interface. One common recommendation is based on purchase history, but there are other context specific options available. Below is a demonstration of what the feature looks like. You can act on those recommendations by adding them to the sales order.
In its present iteration, the feature is fairly straightforward. I expect that NetSuite will continue to add more functionality to it as customers use it and provide feedback. When they do, we will be sure to write a blog about it to give you the latest insight and scoop into all the excitement.
