A common problem is updating values in NetSuite and then needing those old values or trying to recall what was there before. NetSuite system notes is a great tool that tracks changes throughout the system on essentially every record type. This will be an example of how to use systems notes on an item saved search.
In case there was information that needed to be referenced using a saved search will be the quickest way possible. You will begin by creating a new item saved search and the trick is setting the system notes on the criteria.
To set system notes on the criteria you will need to scroll on the way down and field the System Notes Field... option
This will allow you to choose what system notes information you are specifically looking for on the results. As you can see in the screenshot below, in this example we are using system notes to reference a Change, the Field that was Changed, and the Old Value which means the previous value before something was updated.
This will populate all items that had a change specifically to the UPC Code field on the item record. And that is how you can use system notes on a saved search.
